Investing in good ocean management generates significant economic, environmental and health benefits. From 9 to 13 June, UNEP will be in Nice, France at the 2025 Ocean Conference, highlighting the importance of strong governance, innovative finance, and technology in working to restore and protect ocean ecosystems.   See: UNEP events and more

Fifty years after the release of the phobia-inducing film Jaws, UNEP Patron of the Ocean Lewis Pugh recently completed a swim in the waters where the film was shot in an attempt to shift the narrative from one of fear to one of respect. Look back at this feat, which also highlights the role sharks play in maintaining a healthy ecosystem.
